What is Fisher's Tech Tank

I started Fisher's Tech Tank to expand the computer work I was already doing for small businesses and personal websites. I've been doing freelance web development, software programming, and computer consulting for many years.

If I can't help you with what you need, I'll help you find someone who can. Thanks for stopping by — let me know how I can help.

Why use Fisher's Tech Tank

Fisher's Tech Tank is not the home of your average computer programmer. There are several good reasons you might choose to work with me.

Experience

I've worked as a software developer for many years, building client/server applications, dynamically generated marketing documents, reporting applications, professional websites, and much more.

Knowledge

I hold a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, a certificate in Information Technology, and an MBA. That background lets me talk to you and actually understand your business requirements — and then suggest the best solution for your situation, not the one that costs the most.

Personality

I enjoy working with computers and try to share that with my clients. I like learning how people work and what they're comfortable with, which helps me explain fairly technical subjects in much simpler terms when needed.

Reliability

You'll know when I expect to finish and how far along I am. If I see that I won't make a deadline, I'll tell you as soon as I know. I check email frequently, and clients can always reach me by phone when needed.

Services provided

Fisher's Tech Tank provides many different services. If I can't provide one, I can find someone who can. A short list of the most common requests:

Web Development

Web development isn't just pages for your visitors. It can mean databases to store user information, dynamic calendars, online stores, and more. I've worked with many different technologies and can help you pick one that fits.

Software Development

Maybe a small program would help you do business more effectively — or maybe you just want a better way to keep track of the movies you own. A small program might be the answer. Contact me and we'll find the solution you need.

Small Business Databases

Many small businesses need database applications but don't know where to start. I can help you develop a solution that fits your data needs and your budget.

Computer Repair

There are plenty of large companies offering computer repair. They may be able to provide the service you need — but wouldn't you rather work with someone you know and trust? I don't have their overhead or their employee turnover.

Clients

Childress & Associates, LLC

Childress & Associates came to me when they were starting out. They needed a professional website to show the services they provided and a way for candidates to submit resumes. The project ran in two phases to help them spread out the cost; the second phase added a skills assessment section that let candidates take tests online.

"From our initial meeting right through to the completion of my firm's web site, Jeff was extremely knowledgeable, flexible and understanding. He identifies with the needs and limitations of a start-up organization, but has the knowledge to accommodate any Fortune 500 company. His company will provide you with a quality web site that fits your budget. I'm very pleased with our final result."

John Carter & Associates needed to update their website with current information and a new look. After working with them to determine what they expected from the site, I built one with an administrative section that lets them update much of the content themselves — including the images in the banner — without paying a developer again.

"Our website was in desperate need of an update. It was outdated, had very old information and we were not knowledgeable on how to make any changes. Jeff was a huge success for us! He redesigned the whole page and showed us how to operate it on our own schedule. Now, we don't need a third party to make any changes. In addition to the designing of our webpage, Jeff was able to begin hosting our site and email services. Jeff is patient, yet aggressive and wants to get the job done right. We appreciate everything he has done for us. Thank you, Jeff!"

Referred to me by a former co-worker. She needed a site designed to display her photography and let people contact her to purchase prints, along with email and website hosting. I worked with her on a template that fit her business, then made sure she could upload new photos and control the order and categories herself, so she wouldn't pay extra every time the site needed updating. I also added a contact page that emails inquiries straight to her.

"I had a great experience with Fisher's Tech Tank when I needed my website created. They got my idea exactly the way I wanted it and created the website just like I had imagined it. I haven't had any issues with my website and they are always available for me if I have questions. They were fast and the price was great as well."

Their site had been built by an employee years earlier. It loaded slowly and carried information that was no longer current. I updated it with a new design and built in the ability to update the parts that change most often — the news on the home page, the contact section, and the manufacturer page.

Aces & 8's Poker

I've worked with Aces & 8's since December 2006. Their original site was built by another developer; they brought me in to add functionality as the business grew. I added a photo gallery, a page-view counter, and a links section with an admin backend, plus admin maintenance for the Gold Rush tournament, qualifiers, and tournament results sections.

"Jeff took over our site at an extremely critical time. Our business was growing and new competition was on the scene. He completely rewrote the code for the site and quickly added new functions. He made it much easier for our Webmaster to maintain plus enhanced our keywords to increase search engine hits. He has been very responsive and explains issues in a clear, laymen's vocabulary so we all understand what is happening. We are very pleased with the results and look forward to expanding our involvement with Jeff in the future."

Sillites

A designer working on the images and overall site design brought me in to handle the HTML and CSS, which was more than they wanted to take on at the time. We worked together to make sure the client was happy with the result. I also built an administration section so pictures could be uploaded and the slideshow changed without any additional cost in the future.

"We were looking to give our website a rich and elegant feel while still having great functionality. The graphics designer brought Jeff into the process and he was able to create a moving slideshow, which is the most attractive part of our homepage. Jeff's response time and follow up support for both our website in setting up our company's email system has been great. I would highly recommend Jeff for any website, email or e-commerce help needed."

Sterling & York, Ltd.

Sterling & York came to me with an urgent need for a website and email setup, quickly — a professional site to showcase their prior work and highlight opportunities for investors and project developers. Working closely together, I built a template that highlights a project on the home page and shows a random project on the projects page, plus a section the client can update themselves. Even with the added complexity of animation in the banner, the site was done in about two weeks.

"We started out with a concept, and Jeff turned it into a homerun!! He listened to us, drank in our thoughts and comments, then put together a website that was professional, educational to our audience, and raised the outward (and inward) look of our company. He not only raised the bar, but he surpassed it many fold. My hat is off to him for not doing a fine job — but an EXCELLENT job — one that I'm very, very proud of. I would recommend Jeff to any company. He 'knocked our socks off'!"
